开始:VCALENDAR方法:发布开始:VEVENT DESCRIPTION:Near You Event - Speak out for Engineering South Australian C ompetition - 2014\n\nEvent Type: Competition Event\n\nIndustry Sector: Res earch & development\n\nSpeak Details: \n\n\n\n\n\nDescription : The Instit ution of Mechanical Engineers is conducting an annual competition for Stud ents studying \;Mechanical Engineering Degree Courses at Universities on campuses within Australia and young practising \;Engineers. The com petition is specifically concerned with verbal and visual communication in describing \;and explaining technical subjects to non-engineers.\n\nF irst Prize: UK£\;300.00\n\nSecond Prize: UK£\;200.00 \;\n\nN ote: Prize monies will be in equivalent value Australian Dollars.\n\nCompe tition Rules:\n\n Entrants must be IMechE Affiliate Members or Associate members or members who have been \;\nprofessionally registered for les s than 10 years. (Note: Students studying a degree course with \;signi ficant mechanical Engineering content can apply for free Affiliate Members hip. Entry Forms can \;be downloaded from www.pedrorafa.com. and forwarde d with your synopsis)\n\n Entrants must first submit a synopsis of their paper of 200 words maximum to Elizabeth Smith at the \;address below\, before 14th November 2014. The paper must have a mechanical theme\, but o nly 10% \;of the total marks will be for technical content. Entrants w ill be notified by 17th November 2014 if their \;synopses are acceptab le\, together with further guidance to assist in the detailed planning for their \;presentation.\n\n Accepted entrants will then be invited to develop their synopses into an oral presentation\, using such \;aids a s models\, drawings and/or PowerPoint. The presentations will be judged in the Auditorium\, \;MC1-02 Mawson Centre\, Mawson Lakes\, commencing a t 6.00p.m. on Thursday 4th December\, \;2014.\n\n The presentation mu st be made by an individual\, regardless of whether the subject is part of a group \;project.\n\n Competitors may receive assistance from super visors and/or sponsors before the competition (eg \;preparation of vis ual aids). On the evening\, they may be assisted by supervisors or friends (eg\, \;helping to demonstrate working models).\n\n The duration of the presentation should be a maximum of 20 minutes\, with 5 minutes for qu estions \;\n\nand comments from the audience. Any over-run may result in loss of points.\n\n Winners on the night will be eligible to progress to a National Final and Regional Final in 2014\, where \;similar prize s will be available for the winner and runner up.\n\nThe Judging Panel wil l include an IMechE Panel Member\, a public speaking professional and a&nb sp\;local industry representative.
