开始:VCALENDAR方法:发布开始:VEVENT DESCRIPTION:Near You Event - An Introduction to the Engineering Opportuniti es in Bulk Materials Handling\n\nEvent Type: Technical lecture\n\nIndustry Sector: Process Industries\n\nSpeak Details: Speakers::Eddie McGee (Manag ing Director\, Ajax Equipment Ltd.)\nRichard Hellebrand (Process Safety Ma nagement Superintendent Westlake Vinnolit)\nChair\; Maurice Worthington (V ice Chair IMechE North West Centre Process Industries Division)\n\nDescrip tion : To book your place on to this event\, \;please click here.\n\nT his Process Industries Division Event has been organised by the Process In dustries Division Centres in the North West \;and Yorkshire Regions th e Aberdeen Area and jointly wirh the Bulk Materials Handling TAC\, \; part of the Process Industries Community\n\nFollowing on from the Process Industry Divisions&rsquo\; previous webinars on the following industries \ ;Water and Wastewater\, Food and drink\, Energy and Chemical\, Pharmaceuti cal we are now looking into the role of a mechanical engineer in Bulk Mate rials Handling.. \nThis webinar is aimed at those in early careers\, those wanting a career change into these industries\, or those are interested i n broadening their understanding of the breadth of engineering.\nThe prese nters will describe their personal experiences and give an overview of the opportunities within the industry\nManufacturers need safe\, efficient eq uipment with minimal environmental impact. \nAn engineer with bulk handlin g expertise can work in many roles\; equipment and plant design\, manufact uring\, asset management\, projects\, technical sales\, consultancy\, test ing\, certification or research. \; The knowledge and approach gained is transferable to many industry sectors\, a unique career opportunity tha t can be very satisfying and fulfil a vital role in society. \nThe enginee r may need to deal with any aspect of storage\, transportation\, processin g\, logistics\, quality control\, even research &\; development\; and b e required to have knowledge of all the associated compliance issues for s afety\, environmental and legal aspects. \nDifferent industry sectors have their own special priorities and approaches: in the pharmaceutical and fo od sectors\, the emphasis is on hygiene and containment\; in the mineral i ndustries\, the emphasis is on reliability in harsh environments\; in the chemical industry\, mechanical handling must not create explosion hazards. \nSome bulk materials can be challenging to extract from hoppers and silos and refuse to flow reliably\; some may have the potential to be explosive \, flammable\, toxic or have other undesirable traits. Engineering the han dling of these materials may require imaginative techniques to properly pr otect plant and personnel and ensure reliable production. \nOne common thr ead running through an engineer&rsquo\;s job is the need to understand how materials are likely to behave in storage or flowing through a system. Un like liquids\, powders and bulk solids have strength and frictional charac teristics: they can be compressible\, sometimes unyielding and effectively possess a combination of the standard characteristics associated with sol ids\, liquids and gases. These aspects can create uncertainty that affects the behaviour and performance of equipment and plant and provide challeng es to equipment design and plant operation\nThis is the fourth webinar in the series &ldquo\;Introductions to the Process Industries&rdquo\;\n\nCont act Details: Noel Hensman\nTelephone: (+44) 0161 494 8845 \nAddress: Unite d Kingdom.
