Improvements in sensor technology allow a wide range of real time data to be captured from operating systems in a cost effective manner. The much hyped &lsquo\; Digital Twin&rsquo\; concept aims to combine this real time data with simu lation tools to calculate parameters which are difficult to measure such a s stress or damage\, opening up a wide range of opportunities for improved asset management. \;\nIn this webinar\, Dr Andrew Moffatt will presen t an overview of how Solar Turbines have combined data capture with advanc ed engineering simulation and material modelling to create &lsquo\;Digital Assets&rsquo\; &ndash\; real time digital representations of their operat ing fleet. Real time damage prediction is allowing operators to improve ma intenance planning\, increase part re-use and optimise operating regimes t o improve engine life and availability. This talk will cover the overall a pproach developed by Solar and the potential benefits\, as well as some of the challenges encountered along the way.\nThis will be followed by a pan el discussion where there will be an opportunity for questions to be taken from the audience\n\nContact Details: Noel Hensman\nTelephone: (+44) 0161 494 8845 \nAddress: United Kingdom.
