Description
The competition
Members and non-members of the Institution are invited to submit up to three photographs on a set theme. The theme for the 2017 competition is “Engineering in Transport”.
This is a unique opportunity for anyone from across the world to share inspirational, striking images related to mechanical engineering. The judges will be looking for photographs that are ambitious, creative, thoughtful and representative of the Institution’s theme on transport.
A distinguished judging panel of leading industry professionals will select the winning images.
How do I enter?
Please submit up to three photographs on the theme of “Engineering in Transport” to YMBPhotoComp@imechenearyou.org
No radical changes should be made to the original image. Filters are not permissible nor additions from any source. Cropping, straightening and the removal of minor blemishes is allowed.
Images should be JPEG files. 3000+ pixels wide is preferred.
All entries must be accompanied with a completed and signed application form.

Prize details

Over 18 years regional winners
A winner will be selected from each of the eight regions – Americas, North East Asia, South East Asia, Southern Asia, Europe, Middle East and Africa, Oceania and UK & Ireland.
Each regional winner will receive:
£100 prize money
Canvas of the winning photo
Certificate.
Over 18 years overall winner
One overall winner and runner up will then be selected from the eight regional winners and will be awarded an additional:
1st prize £150
2nd prize £125
Contribution towards attending a regional dinner or Institution event (winner).
Under 18 years
1st prize £100 plus an instant camera
2nd prize £50
Photo printed on canvas
Certificate.
The winners will be announced in December 2017.
