Description

Kevin McMullan was the Project Manager on the European Space Agency's Sentinel-5P satellite system.
Launched on October 13, the satellite is part of the ESA's Copernicus programme, the world's largest single earth observation programme to date.
He will give a very brief introduction to ESA then move on to the design description of a typical Low-earth Orbit satellite/ground segment using Sentinel-5 Precursor as an example. This will illustrate the
ESA Project Structure and Project Schedule/Challenges again using S-5p as an example, including some of the mechanical tests involved.
Then move on to describe some of the unique atmospheric chemistry measurement data from S-5p in orbit that is available.

Kevin McMullen who hails from Cork leads the European Space Agency (ESA) team currently managng the Sentinel-5P satellite. Kevin has been involved in the project from its design right through to its launch into orbit.
