Watches demonstrate precise & intricate mechanical engineering of small components combined with artisan hand-finished parts. While Modern watchmaking is a broad profession primarily focused on maintenance, the recent upsurge of interest in watches as a luxury purchase has led to the rise of a new generation of watchmakers, including some in Ireland, charging six-figure sums for individual time-pieces.
