Description

In summer 2020, the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) was successfully commissioned and opened theSouthern Gas Corridorto bring Azeri gas to Europe.

This presentation will cover the relative novel approach of commissioning the TAP pipeline sections using the nitrogen slug shortening methodology. This involves using a pressurised nitrogen slug to de-air the pipeline without using inline pigs.

The methodology involves the management of air/nitrogen and nitrogen/natural gas interfaces, and the mixing of these gases at the interface, as the medium moves along the pipeline at varying velocities and pressures.
