Hunting the secrets of the universe

The world’s largest and most powerful particle accelerator is hidden 175 m under the French/Swiss border near Geneva. Called“one of the great engineering milestones of mankind”, the 27 km ring consists of superconducting magnets cooled close to absolute zero; colder than outer space.

Join the IMechE’s Switzerland Group on an underground visit of the Large Hadron Collider experiment to see where some of the fundamental open questions in physics are being resolved.
