Come and join us for engineering facility tours, student presentations, Phil Peel talk and Q&A and dinner.



Join us for an evening of inspiration and networking with Phil Peel, President of IMECHE. Discover the latest trends and breakthroughs in mechanical engineering as Phil shares his insights and expertise.

Phil Peel is a chartered mechanical engineer and the current President of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), a professional engineering institution based in the United Kingdom. He was elected as President in May 2021

菲尔已超过35年的经验在engineering industry, primarily in the oil and gas sector, where he worked for companies such as BP and ExxonMobil. He has held various leadership roles throughout his career, including as a Managing Director and Vice President.

Phil is a strong advocate for promoting engineering to young people and increasing diversity within the profession. He has been involved in several initiatives to encourage young people to pursue careers in engineering and to address the gender imbalance in the industry. He is also committed to advancing the development of clean energy technologies and reducing the carbon footprint of the engineering sector.

During his presidency, Phil aims to continue the IMechE's work in supporting the engineering community, promoting the value of engineering, and raising awareness of the important role that engineers play in society. He also plans to focus on developing new technologies and addressing the challenges posed by climate change.

We are pleased to invite you to take a tour of ARU's engineering facilities and you'll have the opportunity to connect with other professionals in the field and build valuable relationships over refreshments. Parking at Anglia Ruskin University, Chelmsford Campus

After 4:30 pm all car parks within the campus are available for free parking via a barrier which requires alerting security on entry, via a button at the barrier. The nearest car park is on the east side of the Queens building on Hoffmans Way but this is often full by 7:00 pm. A good alternative is the student village which has 84 spaces reached from Bishops Hall Lane and Ransomes Way. For those who are prepared for a short walk there is the Tindal Building car park with 63 spaces reached from Alan Cherry Drive. Avoid the Rivermead Gate shopper’s car park which is limited to one hour and is not part of the campus. All of these car parks are shown on the Chelmsford Campus map:
