Description

! Electrification. Conception to Epitaph.pdf
Overhead line design has been in development since the first tramway systems were installed in 1881 with many system variants coming and going during this time. History plays a huge part in understanding how to learn from mistakes and optimise our infrastructure. As we look to the future, how can we innovate on this power distribution method to create a high-utilisation, low-maintenance, reliable asset? Hear about the simulation tools that provided the knowledge for TGV to attain the conventional-wheeled train speed record of 357mph in 2007 and learn how these methods have advanced and now pave the way for new tools for designing, monitoring and controlling the OLE – from conception to epitaph.

Speaker(s)

Chris is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer with more than 10 years’ experience in Overhead Line Electrification. He works for Furrer+Frey. He represents UK interests on pantograph-catenary interactions at a European level and has a particular enthusiasm for research and development of Overhead line.
