Delivered by two world-class organisations, the Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Catapult and Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, find out about an industry in the ascendency, how the UK is recognised as a global leader and the huge opportunities for engineers in the North East

Speakers:
Chris Briggs, Siemens Gamesa Renewable EnergyChris is Regional Innovation Manager in the UK, coordinating Innovation engagement activities with external partners in Academia, Industry and Government bodies. Chris spent 25 years in the Thermal Power Generation industry in various Engineering, Marketing and Management roles, before transferring into the Wind Industry in 2010. He is immediate Past Chairman of the IMechE North East Region.
Peter Greaves, ORE CatapultPeter is a Research Structural Engineer working in the Research and Disruptive Innovation department at the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult. His doctoral studies at Durham University were focussed on bi- axial fatigue testing of wind turbine blades.
Tony Quinn, ORE CatapultAs Test Facilities Director, Tony is responsible for all business delivery across ORE Catapult’s Blyth-based test and validation facilities. Tony has held senior positions within Nexus, PB Power and has over 20 years’ experience in all aspects of power generation, from large fossil fuelled, gas fired combined cycle through to energy from waste plants.

FREEThere is no charge for attending this public event and the talk is open to non-members. Please feel free to publicize this event, theposter can be found here. We request everyone to register your interest online to help us organize better and also for safety reasons at our venues.
