    The cost of living crisis has seen energy price rises for domestic and industrial customers, for both gas and electricity. Energy price rises have then put pressure on the rate of inflation, creating a perfect storm of cost increase. Energy price rises are due to a complex combination of factors, including post-covid economic recovery, the war in Ukraine, and the GB regulatory framework for energy. Sara will talk through these factors, and the outlook for the coming winter.

It will include fixed displays and videos about Robert Stephenson’s life; the formation of Robert Stephenson & Co.; illustrations of the Newcastle factory; the firm’s products, and the Trust’s endeavors to raise awareness of this important chapter in the history of Newcastle upon Tyne.

Young people cannot aspire to something they didn’t know existed, so bringing engineers into the classroom to work alongside teachers, children and pupils is a major part of our programmes, projects, and qualifications. ‘If you were an engineer’ is a National Competition that encourages problem solving through creative thinking.
