Inadequate management of aging has many consequences, especially concerning complex long life process plants. This presentation will identify improvements that can be made, and discuss how the impacts on practical conduct and maintenance management.

Mark has spent the last seven years at Sellafield as the Site Maintenance Manager, leading assurance and improvement of maintenance management across the site. He started his career as a marine engineer officer with Texaco and then became Reliability Engineer with Marconi Underwater Weapon Systems. He then spent 11
years as technical consultant and consultancy manager covering reliability, safety and maintenance improvement in defence and offshore sectors, followed by 3 years as a management consultant (junior partner) covering maintenance and manufacturing improvement across a broad range of industries world wide. Mark is a Chartered Engineer, Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, a Fellow of
Institute of Marine Engineers and a founder member of the Institute of Asset Management.
