This event has finished
Description

Ever wondered what kind of equipment is used to manufacturer your bag of Walkers Crisps, Snack-a-Jacks or Monster Munch and how to best employ and maintain that equipment to meet ever challenging production targets?

Ian Rigby, Site Engineering Manager, has agreed to allow young members in to Pepsico Skelmersdale site and the technical capability room which they have used as part of their drive to upskill and empower their 600 employees and deliver considerable improvements in areas such as unplanned downtime, planned maintenance, compliance and CARV (capital asset replacement value). The site recently achieved the top spot across the PepsiCo global operation for maintenance excellence and was the first ever site to achieve world class status as part of PepsiCo Europe's maintenance methodology.

Furthermore, the Skelmersdale sites sustainability strategy was awarded best environmental practice at the Lancashire Business Environment Awards.

The team at Skelmersdale are passionate about STEM engagement and building capability. They want to educate the next generation of engineers and engaging them with the food manufacturing industry so attending this event will be very interesting and informative event which is definitely worth braving the January weather for!

The event will consist of:
1. An Introduction to the site and the technical training carried out on site
2. A visit to the technical capability room
3. Short site tour to see some of the equipment from the technical capability room in practice
