    During his talk he will discuss the changes in how our homes relate to the different energy system that have occurred over the last 10 years, and he explains how the unique approach of the Salford Energy House has allowed different approaches to understanding domestic energy consumption. The changes brought around by renewables, storage and the smart meter infrastructure are explored, reflecting on changes to the way we consume, produce, store, and share energy in the domestic setting.

    Reduction of aerial pollutants is a major priority to combat the damage to human health and the environment caused by such emissions. The combustion of hydrocarbon gases releases pollutants such as NOx, which have been linked to up to 40,000 premature deaths per year in the UK. This presentation will set out the critical elements that operators or owners of <50 MWth combustion plant need to understand and consider in order to comply with the Medium Combustion Plant Directive.
