Ravenglass and Eskdale Steam Railway

Description

The event will begin at 10:00 with a tour of the site including overview of the history of the line, as well as how they maintain and run it in the present day. You will see little steam engines ranging from River Irt (over 120 years old), River Esk 1923, River Mite 1966 and Northern Rock 1976. Modern facilities designed for maximum comfort and an inbuilt love of heritage steam now of 50 years standing.

At 11:25, you have the option to board a train to one of the local public houses to socialise, returning to Ravenglass Station at 15:50.

The tour of the railyard is free to all, however there is a cost of £12.70 for a train ticket, which is payable on the day. IMechE members can apply for a rebate of £10 towards the cost of their ticket (paid after the event).

Booking is required for this event. Seats on the train are limited, so please choose the appropriate ticket when booking.
