Methane is a potent greenhouse gas with up to 100 times the global warming potential of CO2. North Sea operators have committed to reduce their methane emissions by 50% by 2030. How will this be achieved? The ability to confidently and accurately detect, localise and quantify methane emissions from offshore assets is key. This presentation will introduce various technologies and processes that exist today, with case studies on drone-deployed surveys performed in the North Sea.
