Add to your calendar Last updated - 23/06/2021 14:24

Technical lecture
13 July 2021 12:30 - 13:30
This event has finished
Description

The event will be a perspective talk which will focus on recent advances in the field of soft tissue biomechanics. Olga will present recent findings on the behaviour of the knee meniscus obtained from advanced imaging, experimental tests, and modelling at different scales. Her work is focused on gaining an understanding of structure/function relations of this type of tissue.

The aim of the research is to help with the design of suitable biomimetic replacements, Human-robot interface and control, digital twins and patient-specific care.

Speaker(s)

Dr Olga Barrera is a Senior Lecturer at Oxford Brookes University and is involved in research in the Mechanics, Materials and Design (MMD) group where she leads the work on knee wear.
