Become a STEM Ambassador – Induction Session
STEM – Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths
The Institution of Mechanical Engineers will be holding a STEM ambassador registration event. A representative from STEM NOW will be coming over to the Isle of Wight to register volunteers as STEM ambassadors.
STEM NOW has decades of experience in inspiring young people to consider STEM in their future. Their aim is for every young person to have the opportunity to get involved with STEM.
Light refreshments will be provided on arrival.

For this Event there are some additional registration steps required
1. To register to become a STEM Ambassador using the link:

(It is essential the option “STEM Volunteer – become a STEM Ambassador” is chosen.
Please also complete the Contact Preferences and select "Yes" to Share with third parties - this will enable STEM NOW to share details of your STEM activities with the IMechE or other PEI to support your CPD.
Regarding the DBS process (required for child safe-guarding), people will see the following when they click to register on Eventbrite:
DBS APPLICATION AND DOCUMENT CHECKING:
Afteryou have attended the induction you will be sent an e-invitation to complete an online DBS application. As part of the process you will receive detailed instructions.
Your identity needs to be verified at the induction session.
Therefore,it is essential that you bring three required, original ID documents to the induction session.These need to be the same documents that you include on your DBS ID Information Form (sent to you when you register as a STEM Ambassador) AND the same documents that you will be required to upload to your DBS application.
Please note, documents printed from emails or downloaded from websites cannot be used as proof of address.
Please ensure that one of your ID documents includes your current address. This must be the address that you will indicate as most current on your DBS application.
Note: tenancy agreements cannot be accepted as ID.
