With the breakup and privatisation of the Central Electricity Generating Board in the early 1990s, electricity generation is now provided by a large number of players.
As a result the operators of the grid system together with the distribution companies are faced with a wide variety of challenges. These need to be solved if the lights are to remain on.
In his talk, Dr Miles Redfern will detail and suggest solutions to a number of these challenges.
