    Great Western Society DIDCOT
    This year a summer social will be held at the Great Western Society for an evening visit to the Didcot Railway Centre. The centre will remain open after the public day to allow exclusive access to the exhibits as well as the steam demonstration line running especially for us. Entry is free, however pre-registration for this event is ESSENTIAL for each person attending. To do this please send an e-mail to m.james4@ntlworld.com by Wednesday 20th July. Limited places please book early.

    The Crossrail project demonstrates that railway engineering is an innovative and growing area of activity. This talk focuses on Bombardier’s new Class 345 Trains which are to be introduced progressively, on routes crossing London between Reading and Heathrow in the West and Shenfield and Abbey Wood in the East, between 2017 and 2019.
