A knowledgeable review and an insight into the future from one of the most authoritative figures in the industry. After the presentation and audience participation everyone is welcome to stay behind and continue the debate over drinks and a hot finger buffet.

    Our annual symposium examines the future strategy for passenger rolling stock in Great Britain. Three senior rail industry leaders will give their views of the future. Malcolm Brown is a member of the steering group for the Strategy. David Clarke will focus on innovation in rolling stock design, and Tim Bentley will describe factors relating to the manufacturing and maintenance of passenger rolling stock. The audience will then have the opportunity to debate the issues with the speakers.

    The electrification of the GW mainline is a major railway project in the western region and will be assisted by specialist railway plant designed specifically for the purpose described by Simon Bailey and Andy Batters.     The Hitachi Super Express Train is the new generation of high speed trains which will operate on the Great Western Main Line after it is electrified. The trains will be assembled at a new factory in the north of England and the GW trains will be maintained at depots in Bristol and west London. PLEASE NOTE This is a TUESDAY starting with refreshments at 18.30
