Each year, the IMechE Railway Division holds a competition of technical presentations to give Young Members the chance to win £1000!
The competition is open to all young engineers from apprentices and undergraduates to those starting their career in the industry. It doesn't need to be technical, just railway related and with a good presentation style.
It gives all who enter valuable experience of presenting, good career development opportunities and the chance to showcase their work.
Regional heats are held to determine who goes through to the HQ final!
The Presentation
Your presentation can be about any aspect of the rail industry that you have contributed to, and describe project work, research, technical developments or novel technology. They key is to highlight your personal involvement or interest.
Mentoring
Mentoring will be available for competition winners to refine their presentation prior to the HQ Final Evening.
Prizes
Regional winners will receive a prize and be put forward to compete at the Young Engineers Presentation Competition Final, which will take place at HQ in London on 20 May 2013. The winner of the final will receive £1000, and two runners will also get £250 each.
