Description

IMechE UET Taxila Chapter organized an Introductory Seminar for the Freshmen of Mechanical 2018 session on October 24, 2018 in Mechanical Engineering Department. The participation and enthusiasm of students was beyond expectations.The students were briefed about the various aspects of Mechanical Engineering. They were also given a brief introduction of IMechE at UET Taxila. Total participation was 170; 38 Members & 132 Non-Members.

Purpose:

The aim of this seminar was to enlighten freshly enrolled students of 2018 about IMechE UK and IMechE UET Taxila Chapter and how IMechE provides them a platform to polish their technical and leadership skills. IMechE Team briefed them about their past events, and how these events help them in polishing their management, technical and communication skills. They were also told about industrial tours which are organized by IMechE.



A video was presented before the students to highlight the achievements of IMechE UET Taxila Student Chapter in the preceding years.Mr. Jawad Rafiq (Media Director)andMr. Umer Iqbal (Management Director)gave a presentation on the importance of the society and what kind of events and student grooming activities will be held by the IMechE.

In the end,Mr. Murad Ashraf, student chair of IMechE UET Taxila, addressed the students and emphasized the importance of joining a technical volunteer society where new comers can learn and excel. Finally, the event was concluded with asimple Q&A session, which was held to interact with the students.
