Description

IMechE UET Taxila organized Design Challenge local heats 2019, a competition in which you get to present your designing skills by creating an outstanding design. The students were required to design and manufacture an External Pipe Climbing Device. The challenge involved the application of engineering knowledge, creativity and problem-solving skills to solve a certain problem, and required the participants to design and fabricate a device which completed the prescribed challenge with the best performance among all competing teams.

Preparation of this event started almost 2 months ago, including the registration of general members and the introductory sessions in which they were informed about the importance of Design Challenge. Cabinet members, as well as directors, were the major contributors in organizing this event.

The event started on 11th of July with Dr. Nazeer Ahmed Anjum and Dr. Abid as the jury. The two academics evaluated the devices based on design simplicity, device efficiency and creativity. There was also a distribution of prizes among the students to encourage their work. In a nutshell this event enhanced their problem-solving skills and technical abilities.

后成功的完整模型tion of the event, closing ceremony was held in which students who got top three positions were awarded. The audience was made up of a total of 148 students, out of which 68 were members of IMechE. Out of a total of 49 teams in the competition, 11 teams were of IMechE members.
