What is Final Year Project (FYP)?

The final year project is the culmination of the degree – it gives students a chance to demonstrate all they have learned. The project module is very different from other modules. Although students are supervised, the onus is on the student to define the problem boundaries, to investigate possible solutions, and to present the results in writing, verbally and in action. Apart from an initial briefing session there are no formal lectures to attend. Teaching consists of regular individual/small group meetings to discuss progress. For assessment, students submit reports of their progress and final results, and give in-person presentations and demonstrations of their work.
The project tests students' ability to:

• design, engineer and evaluate quality systems

• overcome unforeseen problems
• work within constraints of limited resources
• work with a professional code of conduct
• communicate technical concepts both orally and in writing

Workshop on Final Year Project:

A one-day introductory workshop on final year project was organized by IMechE UET Taxila exclusively for the students of Mechanical Engineering Department on 26th of February 2019. The attendees were introduced about different aspects of final year project (FYP). The total audience in FYP seminar was 65 including 30 members of the society and 35 non-members.
博士Waqar艾哈迈德·库雷希, Assistant Professor at Department of Mechanical Engineering UET Taxila having expertise in final year projects introduced attendees with the basics of FYP and the need for developing skills to innovate something. He also briefed various aspects in selecting a FYP. After that the worthy faculty advisor of IMechE UET Taxila,Dr. Nazeer Ahmad Anjum,paid thanks to the speaker of the session and commended the efforts of IMechE UET Taxila for organizing such informative events.

Questionnaire session:

The participants asked the instructor questions related to Final Year Project like what factors affect the project and on which time do they have to make up their mind for FYP etc.

博士Waqar艾哈迈德·库雷希, PhD in Mechanical Engineering, is an Assistant Professor at Dept. of Mechanical Engineering of UET Taxila, Pakistan. He has been teaching since 2005, and has vast experience in supervising Final Year Projects as well as Masters' Thesis.
