The building maintenance units (BMU) is permanent installed equipment and system to provide vertical access and façade access solution. This enables operators to have light maintenance to the façade, such as cleaning and replacing panels, lights and windows. BMUs can be designed to suit typical building façade, to provide customized solution to adapt specific requirement. It can range from simple monorail system with powered trolleys, to Z-luffing with extreme long telescopic jibs. To date, many of these systems have been installed in well-known landmark buildings across Hong Kong.

A seminar will be provided by Alimak Group Hong Kong Limited to introduce the design of the BMU system with their distinctive projects in Hong Kong. The seminar will first introduce different types and features of BMU systems. It will also present with BMU design safety, standard, and regulations. The speaker will also share their experience in design, supply, installation, and maintenance for various BMU projects in Hong Kong. Their latest technology on the BMU hoist will also be demonstrated.
