The Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) is a government department responsible for monitoring and forecasting weather, as well as issuing warnings on weather-related hazards. The Observatory also monitors and assesses radiation levels in Hong Kong, and provides other meteorological and geophysical services to meet the needs of the public and the shipping, aviation, industrial and engineering sectors.In this online talk, Senior Scientific Officers of the HKO would introduce the application of weather radar in severe weather monitoring and the latest development on uses of the Phased Array Doppler Weather Radar and the Terminal Doppler Weather Radar.Following with the talk, a guided 360 virtual tour for Tate's Cairn Weather Radar Station and Airport Meteorological Facilities would be given for demonstration.
